Hello from the Rocky River Community Gardens!
The Garden is lush and gorgeous thanks to our warm weather and rain. Produce is being harvested daily by many gardeners. Critters have come and gone. Katie the Killdeer hatched three eggs in May; the chicks were quite adorable scurrying around the garden before they gained their flying feathers and disappeared in June! A bunny or two wriggled their way into and out of the garden, but thankfully have since grown large enough that they cannot re-enter the buffet.
Our annual Summer Solstice Celebration in June heralded the official beginning of summer on the 20th. Many gathered to enjoy the weather, good conversation, and a potluck picnic. As RRCG members, we often share recipes, gardening tips, and comradery. You never know what tasty dishes and delightful prizes you may come across when we gather!
To our fellow Rocky River residents, if you'd like to be added to the 2025 waitlist to join, please contact President Sharlene Marty.
