I walked out to the garden around 10 a.m. to check on how all this rain is treating my plot, and sitting right there, waiting to greet me, was this big fat red beauty.
Honestly, it happened over night.
When I checked my plot on Monday this guy was only orange.
But 12 hours later he was ripe red.
I snipped a bit of basil, then headed back to the house.
Going to slice up this fella as soon as I'm done typing here and make a lunch of mozzarella, tomatoes and basil.
Here's that same tomato, only now he's lunch!
This year I'm growing green and purple basil. It just looks so pretty on the plate, and in sauces!
I love to garden because I love to eat.
It's really that simple.
